Under Law No. 15,377, dated April 2, 2026, companies in Brazil now face new legal obligations regarding health and prevention. This regulation amended the Brazilian Labor Code (CLT) to require employers to share vital information with their workforce.
Legal Requirements In practice, companies must provide information based on Ministry of Health guidelines regarding:
- Official vaccination campaigns;
- Human papillomavirus (HPV);
- Preventive care and diagnosis for breast, cervical, and prostate cancers.
Awareness and Culture of Prevention Simply communicating is not enough. The law aims to strengthen a prevention culture within the workplace. Companies are expected to promote affirmative awareness actions, such as internal campaigns, educational content, and guidance on how to access diagnostic services.
Justified Absence for Exams Employees must be clearly informed of their right to be absent from work to undergo preventive exams for HPV and the specified cancers without loss of salary, in accordance with Article 473 of the CLT.
What Changes for Companies? Businesses should review their internal communication and labor compliance practices. Recommended steps include periodic dissemination of health information and clear communication about the right to preventive exams.
